Does not work well with Iphone 4 as claimed! : GOgroove FlexSMART 4i Car Mount System Hi-Fi FM Transmitter and Charger for Apple iPhone 4S , 4 , 3GS , 3G / iPod Touch 4th Generation and Other iPods
Although this item worked great with my Android phone using the optional headphone jack cord, it was a nightmare for my Iphone 4. First, I got a warning that the Gogroove was not compatible with the Iphone as soon as it was directly mounted. For some reason, despite the warning it still lets you open up and play your music files. After a while though the iphone began to get really hot and another warning that I've never seen before appeared stating that the iphone was overheating. After just 2 weeks of use with iphone 4, the Gogroove completely overheated the iphone and blew a circuit in my car, shorting out the radio and my cigarette lighter. Fortunately, the iphone was fine, it just shut itself off to cool down.
I had to replace the fuse which I was not happy about. And I called Gogroove's customer service and they told me the 3-yr warranty they keep praising on their product description wouldn't cover a refund, only a replacement device which I'd lost all faith in. They just referred me to Amazon to see about a refund. Amazon of course has wonderful customer service and gave me a refund no problem. Bottom line-this device very well may short out a circuit if you attempt to connect it to an iphone 4.

Seemed like a good idea, horrible FM transmitter : Griffin NA15005 RoadTrip Handsfree for iPod, iPhone and Smartphones (Black)
I waited for months before Griffen released this product. It seemed to have so much promise! However, I've returned it after using it for only a week or so, in two different cars. Here's what I found:
1.) Iphone functionality: This is the strong point. The interaction with an iPhone is well thought out. You can place and answer calls easily. The bluetooth functionality works perfectly. If only the FM transmitter and Smartscan functions were designed just as well...
2.) Smartscan functionality: This was COMPLETELY useless. I live in Orange County, California. There aren't very many pure-static stations, but there are a few. Still, the Smartscan function insisted on choosing the three STRONGEST stations on the band. In fact, they were stations that I had preset on my cars' radios as ones that I listen to regularly! Why the Smartscan function would choose those stations instead of ones with at least a little bit of static, I don't know.
3.) FM Transmitter: The FM transmitter was so weak, that it made the product pretty much useless. Sometimes, it would not "connect" to my cars' radios at all -- you would hear the regular static of the radio station. At other times, the connection would be made, but it would disconnect a few minutes later - sometimes in the middle of a call! I used the product in a Corolla S and a Lexus ES300. I admit that the Corolla's antenna is pretty weak, but the Lexus antenna is great -- it shouldn't have had this problem. I literally had to press the Roadtrip up against the outer surface of the radio unit for it to hold a station. This should not have to happen!
I emailed Griffen's support folks, and they responded that the FM transmitter is working as it should, and that they're limited to the power output that the product can have. But I disagree that it's working as it should -- I used the original "GoGroove" product and it's FM transmitter was lightyears better than the Roadtrip's.
My suggestion is for folks to go find the original GoGroove-type product -- the one that has the built-in iphone power cord. (They don't build the power cord into the new ones, so you have to provide your own.) That's what I'm going to go buy. They're about $15 or $20, and they actually work -- unlike this product.

Good iPhone Aux mount : Griffin TuneFlex AUX Mount and Charger with SmartClick Remote for iPod and iPhone (Black)
First, I'm guessing that many if not all the reviewers who complained about low volume level failed to notice the gain adjustment wheel next to the out jack. It is positively overlooked - almost didn't see it myself. I needed to turn the adjustment to maximum to get the correct signal level, but it isjust fine then providing correct line level out signal that matched in volume level to other inputs (radio, Cd, and so on). This is positively a thoughtful highlight for Griffin to provide, but they should make it more noticeable and accessible - I can't reach it when the Tuneflex is plugged in.
Which leads to my second minor gripe - the placement of the out jack on the outer edge of cigarette lighter plug makes it awkward due to the recessed placement of the light socket in my Acura Tl. But, that may just be a peculiarity of the Tl and it works fine once it is plugged in and adjusted. I also wish that the neck of the Tuneflex were a slight shorter and/or more flexible so that it could be more positively adjusted to be out of the way.
I bought this mainly for the remote control. It works well enough, but I found that there is no place to attach it to the steering wheel where it is completely out of the way. I ended up with it strapped on at about the 10:00 position. I can reach it there positively with my thumb and it is not too much in the way. I think I will get used to it being there pretty quickly. Also, I don't see how the remote magnet could easily/accidentally become detached as other reviewers have said.
My only other concern is that the adapter sleeve for the iPod first-rate 160Gb provides very slight grip to hold the iPod securely and firmly. Having driven around a bit, this doesn't positively seem to be a qoute but I would feel better if the sleeve provided more support. The iPhone 3G adapter sleeve seems nearly perfect.
My only complaints about the Tuneflex Aux with Smartclick are minor and some are single to my car and the iPod classic. Even with minor concerns, I advise it. Overall, I think this is a very good stock and I will very likely end up holding it and using it for a long time.
I also tested with my iPhone 3Gs and it worked great - no "not designed for iPhone" message as I got with my older Belkin Tunecast.
And, again, complaints about the volume level are unfounded. I know the difference between a correct line out signal level and one that is too low or high. The Tuneflex gets it right- just be sure to use the adjustment wheel next to the out jack. Most car stereos that are expecting a true line level aux in will need to have the adjustment on the Tuneflex turned all the way up. That is as it should be and is not indicative of a problem.

Finally!!! : Kensington Dash Car Mount for iPhone and iPod
I had a Griffin dash mount before so my delineate will be in comparison to it. The suction pump has a long arm which can be moved 180 degrees from one end to another. The phone owner connects to that arm with a ball joint so you can pretty much move/rotate your phone at any angle. The suction cup sticks on the dash pad pretty well unlike the Griffin mount. As long as you have a flat or near flat spot on the dashboard, this mount will stay on there good. The only complain I have is as you publish those side clamps, your phone is barely sitting on those two tiny tabs at the bottom. Dream if the phone doesn't sit right on them as you publish the clamps, your phone will fall off easily. It's a pretty well constructed mount, you just need to be careful when you publish the clamps and hold on to your phone.
